Hi, I’m Abby—and I’m so glad you stopped by to learn more about the little team behind Along Came Abby that makes big events happen.

I was born and raised in the hospitality industry and officially launched my planning career in 2013. I love the excitement, the anticipation, and yes—even the stress—that comes with bringing an event to life. Call me crazy, but I truly crave the perfectly organized chaos that event days bring.

At the heart of it all, I’m passionate about creating experiences that give people a break from real life—even if it’s just for an evening. Life can be complicated, and events have this beautiful ability to transport us somewhere else for a while. Maybe it’s a signature cocktail that sets the mood, a room that feels completely transformed by lighting and florals, or a moment of entertainment that makes everyone stop and smile. My goal is always the same: to help our clients create experiences that welcome their guests in and allow them to be fully present in the moment.

I’m fortunate to work alongside the incredible team at Along Came Abby and ACA Event Rental. I often joke that “people who say Rome wasn’t built in a day haven’t seen our crew in action.” Together, we’ve had the honor of helping couples, organizations, and corporations design, plan, and execute meaningful events year after year.

    Do you only plan weddings? While weddings are a wonderful part of our work, we also specialize in corporate events, charity galas, milestone celebrations, and private parties.

    How far in advance should we hire an event planner? Many clients begin working with us 9–18 months before their event, though we can also assist with shorter planning timelines depending on availability.

    Do you have a budget minimum? Rather than setting a strict minimum, we focus on helping our clients create events that feel meaningful, beautifully executed, and memorable for their guests. Because of the level of planning, design, and vendor collaboration involved, most Along Came Abby events include a thoughtful investment in the overall guest experience. During our first conversation, we’ll talk through your priorities and help guide you toward the best approach for your event.

    How involved will I be in the planning process? Every client is different, and our role is to support you in the way that works best for you. Some clients love being involved in every decision, while others prefer to hand things over and let our team guide the process. Either way, we’ll make sure you always feel informed, confident, and excited about how everything is coming together.

    Do you help with event design and overall vision? Absolutely. Event design is one of our favorite parts of the planning process. From the overall concept and color palette to lighting, florals, layout, and guest experiences, we help create a cohesive vision that tells your story and makes the event feel truly special.

    Do you work with specific venues or vendors? Over the years we’ve built wonderful relationships with many talented venues and vendors throughout Topeka, Kansas City, Lawrence, Manhattan, and beyond. We’re always happy to recommend trusted professionals, but we’re also glad to collaborate with vendors you already know and love.

    Can you help with destination weddings or out-of-town guests? Yes! We regularly assist with destination weddings and multi-day company celebrations, including guest accommodations, welcome events, transportation, and curated local experiences. Our goal is to make the entire weekend feel seamless and enjoyable for both you and your guests.

    What makes Along Came Abby different from other planners? Experience and a genuine love for creating meaningful experiences. Our team focuses not only on the logistics of the event, but also on how it feels for your guests. From the moment they arrive to the final farewell, we want every event to feel thoughtful, welcoming, and memorable.

    What size events do you typically plan?Our team plans events of many sizes—from intimate celebrations to large weddings, corporate events, and galas with hundreds of guests. Whether your event includes 50 guests or 2000, our focus is always the same: thoughtful planning and an exceptional guest experience.

    Do you offer day-of coordination for Weddings? Not exactly. We offer Month-of-Coordination, which is a more comprehensive approach than traditional day-of services. After more than a decade of planning events, we’ve learned that stepping in only on the day of simply isn’t enough to ensure everything runs smoothly. Our Month-of Coordination allows our team to review vendor details, confirm timelines, and prepare for the event in advance—so when the big day arrives, every detail is already in place.
